START
Pattern craft started in the early 1970's with a vision to be one of the uk's leading pattern book manufacturers, they set up originally in a 1000 sqft shop in meadow mill at the beating heart of stockport's textile boom
DURING
The business soon grew, pattern craft was known as one of Stockport's biggest employers at the time hiring well over 120 staff and during the mid 80's expanded its 2 floors of meadow mill to 4 floors covering pattern book manufacturing and also a complementing business 'pattern craft press' which was a print finishing department, which saw pattern craft press diversifying into a complementary venture offering booklet printing and bulk 2-4 colour offset print.
now
the history of pattern craft continues to grow to this day, not loosing our values and practices that saw pattern craft evolve from a venture between three friends to still being a great success, the company was later re-branded to senator solutions group ltd, with Ben Crossley appointed director in 2001 and having now moved to a larger facility in Crossley park industrial estate, still in Stockport's manufacturing hub we now facilitate newer and more efficient machinery and a larger 30,000 sqft floor plan engineered for the efficient flow of pattern book production.
future
Senator will continue to invest in new machinery whilst not forgetting its key core staff with there priceless manufacturing knowledge and skills that helped Senator get to where we are today. Whilst maintaining our key values and practices as one of the uk's leading pattern book manufacturers we also have some future goals of becoming a key player in carbon zero by 2030, we have already strived forward with plans to be as energy efficient and more resourceful, in 2021 we retrofitted all 1287 lighting fixtures in our facility to LED, which on its own yielded a consumption loss of 67% on our lighting usage, in 2015 we opened an account with Elsa waste, that recycled all our waste board and paper.
Senator Solutions Group ltd started life as Pattern Craft which began in the early 1970's with its founder James Crossley, Ken Lees and George Greenhalgh. Originally operating out of Stockport's iconic Meadow mill, once a major textile facility The seven-storey building was built in c.1880 for the spinning of cotton and wool by T & J Leigh Ltd, designated as a Grade II listed building in 1975, pattern craft operated out of three of the seven floors at meadow mill, by the mid 80's employing well over 120 staff.
